Missing person: Rachel Funari

Rachel Funari went to visit Hobart on March 1st traveling backpacker style. She was scheduled to return last Tuesday (March 8th) but no one has heard from her. Perhaps she is stuck on a mountain somewhere but safe and well, however her lack of contact is uncharacteristic and she has now missed 3 days of work. Everyone is becoming increasingly concerned and I hope we are all over reacting.

I believe the Mercury is writing an article on her disappearance for tomorrow's paper.

The police are investigating, the American consulate is involved and a
report has been made to Interpol. This is serious and as Rachel's best
friend I will do everything I can to help.

Any information would be appreciated!

Thank you

Rachel Funari 2009

Rachel is a naturalised Australian citizen. I took her for her first vote in a Federal election won by Howard. She voted for a woman or as many as she could. She was overjoyed at making her first vote. I am very devastated by this worrying news. (Tom Perfect, a fellow Masters colleague from Monash and friend since Rachel came to Melbourne early 2007).

Hello again Cara,
We saw you on the news and have been following the story. Remember Dean was lost for many days and he came out of the bush okay. Think positive, hopefully she comes out today. We can see the planes above Bruny and they've been flying till dusk these nights, they'll find her. If there is anything we can do let us know. Love Ava and all.
